SOLAS Organizational Structure
Society Leadership
The Society is privileged to have Luiz Pimenta, MD, PhD, provide leadership as SOLAS Executive Chairman. Dr. Pimenta’s contributions to the development and continued advancement of lateral access surgery are well recognized and inspirational. Corporate support of the Society is led by Bryan Cornwall, SOLAS Executive Managing Director.
Within the SOLAS organization, society-related activities include research, surgeon education and patient education. Activities are conducted within Applications Committees (i.e., Research & Communication, Deformity, Degenerative, Motion Preservation, and Surgeon Training). Chaired by leading experts in their fields, committee members take an active role in data collection and publication, and serve SOLAS members by driving initiatives such as surgical technique requirements, clinical training requirements and publication strategies.
The 2007-2008 Board of Directors is made up of the Founding Members of the Society, who lead the various subcommittees and drive the evolution of lateral access surgery. New members are encouraged to apply, and will be evaluated based on active participation and productivity for nomination for the Board of Directors, Committee Chairmanships and committee members.
